The only reason that I could think of is, you're running the game without admin permission. that's why when you try to change BM, it won't write down to the files(where the keys are saved) upon logging out. Mine works fine cause I made it run as admin.

Run the compatibility troubleshooter
Right click on aeRO.exe
Properties
Compatibility Tab
click on Run Compatibility Troubleshooter.

do the same with setup.exe just to be sure.
